Movable property belonging to Nkululeko Rusununguko TV (NRTV) is scheduled to go under the hammer on Wednesday, as former and current employees move to recover unpaid salaries exceeding US$278,000.

The auction follows a High Court order authorising the seizure of NRTV assets after the broadcaster failed to comply with a Labour Court arbitration award. The arbitration, led by Patience Kavuru, found that NRTV had defaulted on wage payments to 70 employees and ordered the company to pay US$278,479.88.

NRTV is owned by Nkululeko Rusununguko Holdings, a firm in which the Zimbabwe National Army holds significant interests. Despite the arbitration ruling, the company did not settle the debt, prompting employees to approach the High Court for enforcement.

According to an auction notice from KM Auctions, the assets on sale include motor vehicles valued at approximately US$76,000, along with office equipment such as refrigerators, printers, and television sets.

The seizure is the latest development in a series of management failures at the broadcaster, which has reportedly spent millions on overpriced television content while failing to meet its wage obligations. Many workers have already left the company but continue to pursue their outstanding dues.
